About Anthony
Anthony Banerjee, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of nuwa, is a senior international commercial executive with 15+ years’ experience across sport, entertainment, and large-scale events. He has built and led high-value rights strategies across sponsorship, media, and partnerships at Manchester United and 54, a PIF-owned sports marketing business. As Co-Founder, Anthony leads nuwa’s relationship architecture and strategic positioning, connecting international suppliers to the Saudi networks that decide commercial outcomes ahead of Expo 2030 Riyadh.
Anthony has spent 13 years operating in Saudi Arabia, building deep relationships across Family Offices, PIF and their portfolio companies, global federations, and leading Saudi brand and holding groups. He established 54’s Saudi entity from inception, scaled it into the Group’s first GCC office, and grew it into a multi-vertical sports marketing business spanning golf, equestrian, football, motorsports, and polo. The institutional network developed across that time, spanning government, sovereign wealth, federations, and private capital, is the foundation of nuwa’s access into the Kingdom.
Most recently at 54 Group, Anthony has led global business development across the Group’s nine portfolio businesses, securing a multi-year global partnership with LIV Golf and building out the international pipeline.
Before 54, Anthony spent almost a decade at Manchester United across Manchester, Hong Kong, and Riyadh. His Saudi chapter began through the Club’s 10-year commercial partnership with STC, which first brought him to Riyadh as Manchester United’s on-the-ground representative in the Kingdom. From there he brokered the Club’s MOU with the Saudi General Sports Authority (now Ministry of Sport), and represented the Club’s Owners across Saudi institutional and royal networks, and supported the ownership’s exploration of strategic capital options for the Club.
